Hardened precision shafts, shown here as half commercial lengths approx. 3m, are machine elements which, in addition to their high material quality, surface hardness and surface finish, are characterised by a high degree of dimensional and form accuracy.

Application: 
This makes the precision shafts ideally suited for the following applications, for example:
▪ Guide shaft in combination with linear ball bearings, cam rollers, yoke type track rollers and profile rollers;
▪ Guide rod for plain bearings;
▪ Stretching and straightening rollers;
Shafts and axles in general mechanical engineering. Low-corrosion steels Precision shafts made of X46 or X90 are offered especially for use in medical technology, the food industry and productronics.

Hard chrome plating:
If high wear resistance and increased corrosion resistance compared to quenched and tempered steel are required, hard chrome-plated precision shafts are ideally suited for this purpose.
